Leofoto Armour LN-254CT carbon tripod with NB-34 ball head
The lightweight Leofoto Armour LN-254CT carbon tripod has a removable center column and is intended for
photographers who are on the road a lot and are looking for a good compromise between weight and stability.
The Armour tripods are similar to the Hiker series but differ in the details. This high quality and solid carbon tripod
comes with a Leofoto NB-34 ball head, a multi-tool, a set of spikes and a strong carrying case.
Carbon tripod for heavy work
Leofoto has developed the Armour models for heavy duty work but with weight in mind. The LN-254CT carbon tripod
is therefore constructed from no less than 10 layers of cross-woven carbon and CNC-milled aluminum parts, which
ensures maximum strength and stability at a low weight. The wide tripod plate features a 3/8-inch tripod screw to
easily mount various professional tripod heads. The maximum working height with the included tripod head is 160cm
and the minimum working height is 22cm. When folded, the Leofoto LN-254CT measures only 49cm, making it easy
to take this tripod anywhere. The load capacity of the Leofoto LN-254CT tripod is no less than 10 kilograms, while its
weight is only 1.91kg including ball head.
Tripod legs with twist lock
The smoothly extending carbon tripod legs of the LN-254CT have a twist lock screw locking system. This means
that you can easily screw the tripod legs on and off, even with one hand. The legs consist of four sections with a
leg diameter of up to 25mm and they are equipped with removable, shock-absorbing rubber feet for a stable grip
on any surface. Should the circumstances make it necessary, the rubber feet can be exchanged for the supplied
stainless steel spikes in no time. Leofoto has applied a brown silica foam covering to one of the tripod legs to
prevent cold hands when carrying and holding the camera. And because the tripod legs fold down 180 degrees,
the LN-254CT tripod folds down very compactly, which of course makes transportation easy.
Removable center column
The 180-degree tiltable legs of this carbon tripod allow you to work very low to the ground, but when you flip the
removable center column you can really work close to your subject for macro photography, for example. The center
column is quickly and smoothly adjusted by the butterfly nut on the tripod body, allowing you to adjust the tripod
even with gloves on. A carbon tripod can absorb vibrations perfectly, but due to the relatively low weight of a carbon
tripod, a counterweight is often necessary for stable work. Especially for this purpose, a detachable hook is present at
the bottom of the center column of the Leofoto LN-254CT. You can hang a camera bag from this hook, but also a bag
of stones, for example.
Compact NB-34 tripod head
Leofoto delivers the LN-254CT carbon tripod including a compact NB-34 tripod head. This solid ball head is made of
black anodized aluminum for great durability and has a convenient built-in level on the quick-release plate. The
professional NP-50 Arca-Swiss quick-release plate allows you to quickly place your camera on the tripod. With the
control knobs you control the horizontal adjustment of the entire head, which can rotate 360 degrees, and the
adjustment of the quick release, which can also rotate 360 degrees. Thanks to the fine degree scale on both the
tripod plate and the quick release, you can adjust this ballhead very precisely. Handy for panorama work! The weight
of the NB-34 is 341 grams and the carrying capacity of the head is 20 kilos. The friction of the 34mm ball is separately
adjustable with a large knob and the ball can tilt 90 degrees for vertical shots.
